Originally composing pieces in stained glass and working in stained glass repair, I started using wire and beads to make sculptures. Flat sculptures evolved into 3 dimensional shapes.
Inspired by the Devon coastline and the sea, my work focuses on using as much recycled material as possible. The art reflects my love of the sea and the need for conservation. The majority of my work is inspired by sea life and in particular the Mackerel, my favourite fish.
The majority of my work incorporates recycled items.
The materials I use are both man made and natural ones including old beer/drinks cans, drift wood, seaweed and wire. The clocks are made from recycled biscuit tins or old damaged mantle clocks which have been upcycled. The fish, jellyfish and flowers are cut from empty beer cans with bits of wire and coloured using a mixture of pens and ink.
